S. Africa Mines Chamber Seeks New Power Deal, Mining Weekly Says

Nov. 12 (Bloomberg) — South Africa’s Chamber of Mines wants a “fundamental” change in the nation’s power industry to limit Eskom Holdings Ltd.’s hold over the sector, Mining Weekly said, citing Zoli Diliza, the industry body’s chief executive officer.
Not enough is being done to facilitate the introduction of alternative energy sources other than Eskom, which cannot be a “player and the referee,” the Johannesburg-based magazine cited Diliza as saying on its Web site today…read more at the Bloomberg
